Eyelash Extensions: 10 Things You Need To Know
March 4, 2023

While I have over 13 years of experience as an eyelash extension pro, eyelash extensions have skyrocketed in popularity over the last few years (yay!). Women all around the world are getting eyelash extensions to enhance their natural beauty, achieve a more glamorous look, or make getting ready in the morning that much easier! However, with the rising popularity of eyelash extensions, there are still many questions that people have about this beauty treatment. In this blog, I will address the 10 most frequently asked questions about eyelash extensions.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
Eyelash extensions can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks, depending on how well they are taken care of. The lifespan of eyelash extensions also depends on the type of adhesive used and the skill level of the lash artist who applied them.
What are the different types of eyelash extensions?
There are three main types of eyelash extensions: synthetic, silk, and mink. Synthetic lashes are the most affordable and are made from a plastic material. Silk lashes are slightly more expensive and have a softer, more natural look. Mink lashes are the most expensive and are made from real mink fur, giving them a natural, wispy look. How much do eyelash extensions cost?
The cost of eyelash extensions varies depending on the type of lash and the skill level of the lash artist. On average, a full set of eyelash extensions can cost anywhere from $100-$300. If you’re curious about our pricing, check out the full menu of our services here.
Are eyelash extensions safe?
When applied by a trained and certified lash artist (we are at Infinity Beauty Bar), eyelash extensions are generally safe. However, there is a small risk of an allergic reaction to the adhesive used. It is important to do a patch test before getting eyelash extensions to ensure that you are not allergic to the adhesive.
How are eyelash extensions applied?
Eyelash extensions are applied one by one to your natural lashes using a special adhesive. The lash artist will carefully select the appropriate length and curl of the lashes to create a customized look that enhances your natural beauty or achieves the aesthetic you’re looking for!
Can you wear mascara?
It is not recommended to wear mascara with eyelash extensions, as it can cause the lashes to clump together and shorten the lifespan of the extensions. If you want to enhance the look of your lashes, consider getting a different style when you go for a fill!
How do you take care of eyelash extensions?
To ensure that your eyelash extensions last as long as possible, it is important to take proper care of them. Avoid getting them wet for the first 24 hours after application, and avoid using oil-based products on or near the lashes. Brush your lashes gently with a clean mascara wand to prevent tangling, and avoid rubbing or pulling on them. Silk pillows are also amazing!
Do they damage your natural lashes?
When applied correctly and maintained properly, eyelash extensions should not cause damage to your natural lashes. However, if the extensions are applied improperly or if they are not taken care of properly, they can cause damage to your natural lashes. We are certified lash professionals and educators at Infinity Beauty Bar! Do not waste time getting these done by someone who isn’t certified!
How often should they need to be touched up?
To maintain the look of your eyelash extensions, it is recommended to get them touched up every 2-3 weeks. This will help to fill in any gaps where lashes may have fallen out and keep your lashes looking full and voluminous.
How do you remove eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions should be removed by a trained and certified lash artist using a special adhesive remover. You definitely don’t want to try to remove them yourself, as this can cause damage to your natural lashes!
Eyelash extensions are a great way to do something different and enhance your look! Most of my clients get lashes so that they don’t have to wear makeup and can still feel put together and glamorouso.
