Three Myths About Eye Lash Extensions

March 1, 2022

I WANT EXTENSIONS, BUT I’M WORRIED MY REAL LASHES WILL FALL OUT.

Without extensions, we lose anywhere from 1-4 natural lashes a day. When our lashes are ready to fall out naturally, there is already another lash growing in place. As long as the lash extension application is done correctly, there should be no prematurely falling lashes.

MY LASHES AREN’T FULL ENOUGH FOR EXTENSIONS.

We have an average of 200-300 lashes in each eye. I know, right? When looking in the mirror, we have layers upon layers of natural lashes that we can’t fully see. Try having a friend take a video of your lashes under direct light with you laying down and use a lash brush to separate the lashes so you can really see just how many of those bad boys you have!

THE MORE GLUE I USE WHEN APPLYING LASHES, THE BETTER THE LASH WILL STICK.

This is a big NO-NO! More glue is never the answer. Think about the hundreds of little hair follicles we have along the eyelid. We need to give those follicles room to breathe so they don’t get clogged. Too much glue can lead to adverse reactions: styes along your lid or extensions sticking to one another. This can lead to premature fallout and can result in an uncomfortable grow-out process. Excessive glue can also end up damaging the hair follicle slowing down the hair renewal process.
